Boris L. Ikhlov
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2022, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1108489
Abstract: The objective of the study is to detect the resonant absorption of an ultrahigh-frequency electromagnetic field in the centimeter range by DNA molecules at a frequency corresponding to the natural frequency of torsional vibrations of the DNA helix. Instead of DNA solution, cultures of various bacteria containing DNA were used, for whose DNA spirals the resonant frequencies of torsional vibrations were calculated. The cultures were placed in test tubes or cuvette and irradiated by microwave generator. Theoretical analysis of the reaction of DNA to external ultrahigh-frequency radiation was carried out, including taking into account the environment and during replication with the formation of replicative forks, the resonant frequencies of DNA of three types of bacteria were determined. Peak absorption of microwave electromagnetic field by bacterial cultures was detected on calculated frequencies corresponding to the natural frequencies of torsional vibrations of DNA helices of these types of bacteria.
Short Spiral Macromolecules in an External Electromagnetic Field  [PDF]
Boris L. Ikhlov
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2022, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1108684
Abstract: The analysis of the results of irradiation of DNA isolated from lymphocytes by an ultrahigh frequency electromagnetic field was carried out. The natural frequency of torsional vibrations of the spirals of collagen molecules was found. It is proved theoretically that single-strand breaks in the DNA of lymphocytes by microwaves are caused by torsional vibrations of the helices of DNA molecules whose natural frequencies coincide with the frequencies of microwaves, and the resonant frequencies have been found. For research, instead of millimeter waves, multiple frequencies of centimeter waves were used. The theoretical analysis has been confirmed experimentally: a multiple frequency in the centimeter range causes a maximum increase in single-strand DNA breaks of arthropod hemolymph amoebocytes, while close frequencies do not lead to an increase in the number of single-strand breaks.

Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2023, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1109835
Abstract: The effect of centimeter waves of non-thermal level on four types of bacteria has been studied. On E. coli strains, a sharp increase in survival during the first cycle of cell division was obtained. The mechanism of inhibition of pathogenic bacteria by a weak electromagnetic field is explained. The mechanism of stimulating the survival of bacteria associated with the activation of genes that reduces the number of dying bacteria is explained. The general form of the modified Ferhulst equation is proposed and its general solution is found, taking into account the impact of negative external influences and the effect of stimulation. Conclusion: A weak electromagnetic field can be used in sanitary procedures, and the modified Ferhulst equation can help in the preparation of treatment programs.
A New Strategy to Protect the Cell from Damage  [PDF]
Boris L. Ikhlov, Andrey V. Melnichenko
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2023, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1110147
Abstract: The article theoretically and experimentally substantiates a new method in the free-radical theory of aging, where the target is not the free radicals but the DNA molecules; while radioprotectors are used as antioxidants, previously used to protect the body from radiation damage. A brief overview of various strategies and methods in gerontology is provided. In the quasicrystalline model of DNA, the role of impurity levels is considered. The electronic spectra of DNA bases were calculated by the quantum-chemical extended Hückel method, which gave the DNA band structure. As radioprotectors, when irradiated with laboratory mice, the Po-210 isotope, in particular, orotic, thiouric acid, orotylglycine, and others which has DNA as a target were used. The maximum survival of laboratory mice was obtained by injecting such a radioprotector from a series of selenium derivatives whose n-level was located in the middle of the forbidden band; a comparison was made of the proposed method of using radioprotectors with other methods in gerontology. When using the component selenium orotic acid, Se in combination with hypovitaminosis B13, a significant increase in the rate of tissue regeneration was revealed. So the use of certain radioprotectors as geroprotectors is fully justified; such substances in doses far from lethal have several advantages over other geroprotectors, which at the same time are antioxidants.

Abstract: The formula for the natural frequency of torsional vibrations of the DNA helix is obtained by methods of mathematical physics. The data on the dependence of E. coli survival on the time of exposure to centimeter waves were analyzed, the numerical coefficient in the resulting formula was determined. According to this formula, the resonant frequency for the DNA of another strain of E. coli was found. When irradiated with centimeter waves of this frequency, a significant decrease in the survival rate of another strain of E. coli was obtained. Similar experiments on three other bacterial cultures confirmed the validity of the formula obtained.
Kinetic of Transport of Technogenic Ecotoxicants through Model Membranes  [PDF]

Journal of Environmental Protection (JEP) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/jep.2010.14047
Abstract: The kinetics of ecotoxicant transport through the membrane was studied. The ecotoxicants studied were pecticides widely used in agriculture: lontrel (clopyralid), sencor (metribuzin), basagran (bentazon), roundup (glyphosate), kusagard (alloxydim sodium), and sethoxydim, as well as lontrel complexes with cobalt and copper. All compounds considered penetrate through the model phosphatidylcholine liposomal membranes. The transfer rate was monitored by fluorescence quenching of ?-ATP inside the liposomes. The mathematical model for the process was proposed, and the mass transfer rates were calculated. The octanol/water partition constants were determined. All the compounds con- sidered were shown to accumulate in the fatty layer. The kinetics of their accumulation was studied, and the rates of accumulation in the nonpolar phase were calculated, which correlate with the complexation constants of the same compounds. Bioaccumulation of the toxicants is caused by the formation of complexes with the fatty phase (lipid part) of the cellular membranes. The toxicants under study transferred into the nonpolar phase with a considerable rate dur- ing the whole observation time, namely, 18 months.
Mach's Principle selects 4 space-time dimensions
Boris L. Altshuler
Physics , 2012, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.86.044006
Abstract: Bi-tensor kernel in integral form of Einstein equations realizing Mach's idea of non-existence of empty space-times is taken as an inverse of differential operator ("Mach operator") defined conventionally as a second variation of Einstein's gravity Action over contravariant components of metric tensor. The choice of transverse gauge condition used in this definition does not influence results of the paper since only transverse and traceless tensor modes written on different background space-times are studied. Presence of ghosts among modes of Mach operator invalidates the integral formulation of Einstein equations. And the demand of absence of these ghosts proves to be a selection rule for dimensionality of the background space-time. In particular Mach operator written on De Sitter background or on the background of so called "Einstein Universe" does not possess tensor ghosts only in 4-dimensions. The similar demand gives non-trivial formula for dimensionalities of subspaces of the Freund-Rubin background.

Physics , 2002,
Abstract: In the 6-dimensional model of warped compactification based on the euclidean AdS Reissner-Nordstrom metric it is possible to escape artificial 4-brane's stress-energy tensor anistropy necessary for fulfillment of Israel junction conditions by introducing in 3+1 spacetime of the cosmological constant which turns out to be ${}\sim G^2$ ($G$ - Newton's constant) and acquires the value compatible with observations.
Asymptotics of counts of small components in random structures and models of coagulation-fragmentation
Boris L. Granovsky
Mathematics , 2005,
Abstract: We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for convergence (in the sense of finite dimensional distributions) of multiplicative measures on the set of partitions. We show that this convergence is equivalent to asymptotic independence of finite sizes of components. The multiplicative measures depict component spectra of random structures, the equilibrium of classic models of statistical mechanics and stochastic processes of coagulation-fragmentation. We then apply Schur's tauberian lemma and some results from additive number theory and enumerative combinatorics, in order to verify the conditions derived in important special cases. Our results demostrate that the common belief that interacting groups in mean field models become independent as the number of particles goes to infinity, is not true in general.
The simplest nearest-neighbor spin system on regular graphs:Time dynamics of the mean coverage function
Boris L. Granovsky
Mathematics , 2002,
Abstract: We establish a characterization of the class of the simplest nearest neighbor spin systems possesing the mean coverage function (mcf) that obeys a second order differential equation, and derive explicit expressions for the mcf's of the above models. Based on these expressions, the problem of ergodicity of the models is studied and bounds for their spectral gaps are obtained.
